People pay a lot for cool discs! Here is one most people do not know about, Test Eagle from 1983, that would be the disc on the top right, a darker pink that the bald eagle on the bottom left. Below see the certificate for more details, In a nut shell it is one of 80 made, the bald eagles had color runs in the thousands ( still hard to find ) only a few of these test Eagles are around, Value? Because of being the first beveled edge golf disc, I say it is high in value, only problem is they are being offered for the first time, no one knows, what is the highest ever paid for a golf disc? I would say it is more than that, this disc is from a private collection, I hope to get one! Let me know what you think it is worth!

Picture
Flying High Discs, first run of all 6 of their models. I like what Scott Stokely ( the Doctor ) is doing to promote his discs! It is a little mad cap and silly but fun! I was at De La in 1993 for Masters Cup when he was married at the " top of the world " hole. Welcome back Scott and good luck! Value $100 for the set.
Picture
More Stokely fun!

New disc from UB Discs. This is a true prototype, you can see from the below photo it was changed or retooled into a different disc. For many discs you have people or disc makers that call a disc a prototype. To me if you make a disc test it then go into production with that disc, call it a first run, but this is what I call a prototype!

Wham-o 86 mold. One of the discs in my bag back when I first started playing.
Picture
Wham-o 86 mold. These Softies were a popular putter, When the stiff 86 mold first came out it was a all purpous disc, the softie turned it into a putter, I used one for a long time. The mold is still around, Like other molds from Wham-o you can find the 86 mold at Discovering the World, I talked to June & she said there was no direction for the proper blend to get the softie feel, there were even some discs molded in a attempt to duplicate them, it just did not work, so last Softies were run over 20 years ago. DTW also has lid molds that they make HDX discs with, as well as a Pro mold for guts & fastback too!.

Ice Bowl, yep played a few , donated canned food, great idea, I think most disc golfers are familiar with this event. Not sure why every year the Disc Golfer mag runs a article on the event, I mean every year for the last 10 years probably more! I am going to slit my throat if they run it again, how about a article on tips to avoid erosion on courses, also why is there a article on course design in every PDGA quarterly? Wham-o 40 mold/DGA hot stamp this is a glow set, the date on the discs is 1978. Could be as few as 1000 of these discs were produced. Value $1,200.

Picture
This disc is a Destiny Puppy, this is a classic, made for Disc Golf using the same basic shape that had been used for some 30 years before. Many disc manufactures made discs very close to the Puppy leading up to the early 80s. Weight was added slowly and the overall size of the discs got smaller. In 1983 a radical change  in disc design started a boom that is still going on today. Here I hope to share all discs that were made with Disc Golf in mind.

I started my flying disc collection by getting interested in Disc Golf. I first started playing Disc Golf in 1981 at Veterans Park in Sylmar California. Soon I discovered many courses in SO-CAL. I played with any old disc I could find but settled on Wham-o lids.
I saw other Disc Golfers were using numbered Midnight Flyers. These discs were glow in the dark and came in sets numbered 1-8. This glow material made the Midnight Flyers heavy. In regular glow in the dark discs Wham-o used only 18% glow material in the Midnight Flyers they used 40% to 45 % glow material. This also made the discs glow brighter and last longer.
Wham-o used most of the molds they had starting in 1978 to make these Golf Discs. ( I have heard that the first of these were made starting in 1975 or 1976 but the earliest dated discs I have seen were 1978 )
The first set was a 40 mold and were called Night Flyer the name was changed. There could be as few as 1000 Night Flyers Made. Midnight Flyers came in a pink glow in some molds and when you have different size molds and different color hot stamps there were many combinations to collect!. Some of the later hot stamps had a trademark band around the hot stamp, a lot of people from the time did not like this, not sure why.
In my collection I have 170 Midnight Flyers, I have a nice Set of 1-8 Night Flyers only one of these have been used. In total I have 9 complete sets, 4 of these sets are un thrown.
Disc Golf Association got these glow discs from Wham-o and put the hot stamp on, not sure when the Midnight Flyer stopped being produced , I will look into that but I would guess the mid 80s.
Picture
All un thrown! Star stamp value $300, all others $160.
