This set comes with Regulars & sometimes reissue Pluto Platters. The Plutos in some of these sets are different because of a added number letter line different to each disc! So when you are one of only 4 people that have all the other examples, ya gotta have one!

I started this a little backwards to read about the pluto platters I did the newest to oldest starting from here, It could be helpful to start from the bottom of this page and work your way back up, this way you will see the mold retoolings in order of when they happened, to see my American Trends Pluto Platters look under Antiques

The 7th run had a run of experimental rubbery plastic 2 of them are shown here. value if they were new $350 each

red, apricot and blue are all the colors of the run of 7th styles. New value $110 each.

7th style has the addition of a backwards # 1. ( center of disc )

Forgot I had this one, the bag is torn so that the disc slips out, it is a 7th Style. Value $300.

With the help of Father Lyle I a upgrade in this WPP6! I have 2 in this style in good condition, value $600 each. I have a third in Poor condition, you can see it below, because these are so hard to find still a $500 value.

Underside of upgraded WPP6, it does have a small crack. Over all much better than my other, see below.

upgraded 6th Style.

Wham-o Pluto Platter 6th style will have the esker removed but have the same Wham-o & DES.PAT. 183626 in the script on the underside. on top the disc looks the same as the 4th and 5th styles.

Looking for hard to find styles leads to trying to ID used discs, so I asked the expert Phil Kennedy. Here is a pic of a emailed photo from Phil that IDs this one as a 6th style. Here you see a green circle highlighting the mold flaw found on the ejector pin area, this can be found in many different positions because the ejector pin area on the mold can be moved but the # 1 is always in the same spot in reference to the Backwards # 1, what we are looking for is any sign of a backwards # 1 , no # 1 here this is a rare 6th style!

Hard to find 5th style , double esker. Even with a crack this disc has a $700 value. Thanks to Phil Kennedy for helping me get my first double esker, I really took off looking for WPP4s & WPP6s after that!

2nd style is the most common in styles but in that group Apricot are harder to come by, value $375.

Different from the 1st style this 2nd style and all that follow have the word Wham-o 3 times on top. Excellent condition value, $85.

These 1st style Pluto Platters came with a sticker. Note the esker ( raised bar on underside of disc ) that covered the American Trends lettering.

Note the second Wham-o spelling ( wamo )

Wham-o took Fred Morrison's American Trends Pluto Platter and mass produced them between 1957-1964, retooled 7 times and even a experimental rubbery plastic on the last run, on these different from the American Trends Pluto Platters there is the word Wham-o 1 time on top of the disc and a esker on the underside, these are all the colors for the 1st style, white is rare! White has a value of $600 it it like new, the others if they were all new would have a value of $130 each.
