Having fun listing plastic for DGA, cool stuff from Steady Ed Headrick's collection! You can find me on e bay with the user name of WHINECOUNTRY, I live in Napa so it is wine country the reason for the spelling you would know if you played my local course. We get some legendary roll aways here, it happens to everyone at some point, you either learn to accept it and play on or it

For the first time in a long time I have nothing fun coming to me in the mail. Usually I am scanning E Bay, checking the brick and mortar stores, working deals on Face Book, but this has been a slow week, not a thing is due to arrive in the mail.
My usual fevered pitch has been slowed for a few reasons, First I hate to say it but after getting my collection in order and doing the nonstop disc thing for 9 months ( or has it been 15 years ) I am a little tired of trying to keep up with the latest and getting more of what I already have. I think I understand what John Kirkland meant when he said that collects nothing after 1981. For those of you who do not know John he wants a example of every disc in every variation stamp or other wise made before 1981. He has 20,000 discs! But you need a cut off point and I think it is time for me. My oldest is starting to collect, his collection could pick up where mine stops. I think I will do my best and really look to fill gaps and upgrade plastic with a cut off date of today. If you look back to one of my very first blogs I have a list of discs that I am looking for, super hard to find stuff. Have a look and let me know if you have something on that list. I was playing the Skyline course last week and ran into a couple from the East Coast, during that round the gal said her husband had a disc fetish, he had a box of 50 discs! The look on her face when I told her I had 4400. My add in the Disc Golf mag comes out in a few weeks I need to add more Publications to the site, keep a eye out for new stuff! Here is a photo I took while I was shooting Sporting Clays at a local spot. I do many different things ( none all that great ) but the constant thing that I do is throw plastic! I am the contact as the local Pro at our course here at Skyline. I got out and played 2 times last week. Both times I played with players from out of state. I did not get a call ahead of time it just worked out that way. It is always fun to meet new people on the course but when they are from so far away it is even more interesting. When I travel I look to contact the local Pro and try and work out a time to meet, play and yes trade for some plastic. As I day dream about the change from Snowboarding to Wake boarding or practice guitar or even on a bike ride, throwing plastic is not far from my mind. Get out and make a new friend on the course, just like throwing plastic this site crosses my mind and I think of new things to do with it, I have a add coming out in the next Disc Golfer magazine, I made a batch of bumper stickers but next I will be trying to work the internet to get the word out to the Frisbee Family that my collection is on line! |
