This disc is a original Eagle ( Innova ) This was my first disc golf event I think that was 1983? Located at Oak Grove park in SO-CAL, this is the site of the first pole hole course. I got my first golf disc at the pro shop there ( Mungazine pro shop ) , this was the site of my first ace as well. Listing my pictures and re numbering my collection has been a treat! It is still a big job but more fun than I expected. I have got to disc 1000 and that puts me about a box short of 1/4 of the way there. I had forgot how many silly discs I have in my collection, they may not be super valuable but they are interesting! That summer of 83 I spent many hours playing disc golf, many times I would ride the bus or take my bike to play. Here I am almost 30 years later still playing with flying discs!
I sure look stiff here! But not only do I get a workout playing disc golf I also burn calories doing course upkeep and improvements. It is nice when other club members do small things like dump the garbage. Yesterday there was a group out adding benches, that makes 5 new ones in the last 6 months! I like to pick a big project in the fall, last year it was to organize the work party to pour our first cement tee pad.
The course is always changing and evolving there is always something that need to be done. Everything from maintaining trails to planting new trees and bushes. It took me a while to let others help with the over site of the course and in doing so more stuff gets done!
This small corner of the park has become a special spot not just for me but many of my Frisbee family. It has been very rewarding! Stiff as I am I took a 2 on this hole!
