2014 Vintage Cup in the books!

Wow! the 20th annual Vintage Cup was the best. I think we could have set a attendance record had we used 2 courses, the 27 hole layout gave 150 people a chance to play. It sold out a week before. Once again it was good to pull all the local players together to put on this event.
This year we had players in 11 divisions, that was a new record! I did not feel up to playing this year with my knee still in recovery but I was the caddy for my daughter-in-law Renee. Being the 2013 Champ in the Grandmaster division it was nice to have the 2014 Grandmasters playing behind us both days. I saw Jeff Fiedler make a 40 foot uphill putt to stay tied with Rob Byers on the last hole, he went on to win on the 3rd playoff hole, next year I hope to play!
Saturday evening was great with a horse lady giving rides on her horse to who ever wanted to! The giant pot of chili was gone by the end of the night. My band Mid-Life Krysis played a 20 song set with our new guitarist Bud! This year we also had a second band play D.O.D. . The warm sunny weather had many people camping and enjoying the bonfire.
This could have been the first year that there were no hole in ones recorded! With the dry weather the grass was short and that helped send many discs on long roll aways! Thanks to all the kind folks at Skyline Park for the use of the social hall, it is a great meeting place for the tournament.
Not sure how to top this years event but it seems to get better all the time. Looking forward to 2015!
