Many of you know I am selling off many of the extra discs in my collection. I call them extra for a lack of a better word. I have known I had too many discs but that did not stop me from getting more! Funny thing happened once I started to reduce the number of disc I had, I gave me a different perspective on what I was doing. I just feel a little different. I am proud of these little plastic discs I have collected but also a little silly. One thing is for sure, the buying switch is turned off! It is almost a relief but it also makes me a little sad. I have always said once I start a activity I stick with it for life, like snowboarding, disc golf, playing guitar, cycling, traveling, & others things. A new feeling has come over me while selling a few very hard to find & expensive discs, but letting these disc go to a new home I have gotten the feeling of joy from others, This is very rewarding! So while I thin down the number of discs, that gives me joy ( there is that word again ) in many different ways, I have taken a hard line with myself by keeping many blocks of my collection like antiques, Wham-o & golf discs by Innova, Discraft & DGA, so if you see something you NEED now is a good time to get in contact with me!

OK! 5300 discs is a bunch!, I am building a barn, inside the barn I plan on keeping my collection but I have too much, it is time to just keep the plastic I really like & I hope that makes for a manageable storage spot! Display too! This is also going to help me defer the cost on the new recording studio I am building in said barn! I hope to find enjoyment with my music family as much as I have found with my Frisbee family! Well after having kidney cancer & then 5 mystery spots on my lungs removed it was good to find out that the spots were not cancer! That makes me 16 months cancer free! if I can get 16 more months with no cancer popups I got a good chance of putting this behind me, It is a strange spot to be in, ( having cancer ) I can not describe what it is like, it gives a different perspictive to say the least! I plan on thinning the herd & donating the money from sales to cancer research, to many people are affected, got to do something to help, There is nothing better than being on the course with family & loved ones! Braxton is 7 months old now! Getting to be a big kid! It is time for him & I to head out & play disc on the upper course at Skyline ! The problem is that during the wine country fires Cal-Fire set a back fire on the course, about 4 holes were effected. There was some bull dozer work as well, so the club is working to get the course back open & have it safe for everyone, Soon me & my youngest grandchild will be out during the best time of year in California to play disc, Winter! It is always fun to meet folks with a lower PDGA number than your self! I went to Cabo on a guys fishing trip & invited Lightnin Lyle Jensen # 102, I had some other Disc Golf friends on the trip. When I made Contact with Sheryl Newland # 76 on Facebook finding out she was near by, I invited her over for breakfast. It was fun to tell Lyle we were going to have a guest over that had a lower number than himself! He was thinking " in Mexico ? " On vacation in the south of France at a flea market I came across this, all I can guess is that this toy maker was trying to use the Frisbee name to sell some product. I passed out many of my mini business cards to folks I came across, many did not speak english but they know the word Frisbee & what it is, next trip in Europe I got to play some disc sports! Love the challenge of playing disc sports, My other thing is playing with my band Mid-Life Krysis! We are even working on original stuff to go with the 60 cover songs we know! Medical update is so far I have 2 opinions, 1 is to wait & let the spots in my lungs ( 2 ) grow & biopsy them when they get big enough, 2 take these spots out now, tomorrow I meet with the surgeon & the day after I see a 3rd specialist, to in my mind break the tie & move forward. Now I am going to work on a new song! Most people don't know I had a growth on my kidney, had that removed last October, just found out I got something growing in my lungs! Could be a few spots, once they get big enough they will biopsey it to see what it is then start treatment, My kidney cancer was made up mostly of a aggressive form of cancer & if that is whats in my lungs there is very little they can do. So bucket list time, but I must say it is the simple things, I played Orangevale yesterday with my 2 grandsons, Braxton 4 months & Kayden 2 years, my son Curtis, my nephews Jake & Austin their dad Shannon & 2 dogs, It was a very good feeling to drive up to long #12 & make my 25 foot putt, guessing the hole at about 370 feet. Birdied my last hole to beat my son by 1 & everyone else too! Lunch picnic style at the river with some swimming makes for a great day, Enjoy the game, Hope to see some of my frisbee family when I travel to the cancer institute in Cleveland in a few weeks! |
