I get it! For me it is to settle in and just have fun, if something bad happens, you can make up for it on the next throw. Most important to me is to have a clear head or keep your thoughts focused on just one thing while throwing.
Both my boys played a solid first day, my oldest was able to play solid on the second day as well and that made me proud.
This years Vintage Cup my mind was racing, my thoughts bounced around to many different things. Finally when the wind kicked up I knew that people would struggle and it was time for me to step up..... nope mentally I folded up!
This is a tuff game, if it was easy everyone would be doing it! What I love about Disc Golf is the chance to start new, so off to the course I go.
